So I got the oppurtunity to perform with Sean Paul out in Africa.. This time we were out there for a full week and it was an experience.
This time we had time to act like tourist and buy gifts to bring home.. I brought things that I know my family would love. I brought my grandmother a wooden set of elephants since they are her favorite and they bring good luck, my mother received a brass statue of a woman holding her child in the air.. even though I am no longer a kid I am still her child 🙂 her only child lol… my older cuz got a hand made bracelet and I brought my aunt a hand made necklace but some how it disappeared along the way IDK… if I find it it will be mine since I gave her something else lol..
We also had the chance to visit a village while we were out there.. They made Sean a Cheif, gave him some land, 2 live chickens, seeds, beans and…. well lets just say they made him a CHEIF.. for real though. I forgot his cheif name but when I remember I will update the post.
I was so scared though. As we drove up to the village the elders were along the side of the road with old school guns and as a welcome they bust their guns.. well long story short we were not aware of this and I know I jumped up out of my seat and then ducked lol.. It was crazy lol.. didnt know what the hell was going on.
It was definitely agreat experience… Made me look at my life a littel differently you know.. Its like out there you are either Upper class or poor.. There is no real middle anything.. I mean I love what I do especially when I get to travel to different countries but I still forget that not everywhere is like the US.. and being in the village and seeing how they are still happy with everything they have made me realize that we pride ourselves on the wants and not the needs and they are with not a lot of anything and they are making it and smiling, and keeping hope for better.. It was amazing.. I can’t wait to go back to different parts.. I really want to go to Egypt.. I feel an attraction to it so I know its in my future to go..
Well until the next trip 🙂
